    BIO: Harmony Slater

With over 25 years of Ashtanga Yoga practice, Harmony Slater brings a wealth of experience to her teaching. Authorized by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois in 2005 and Certified in Advanced Series by R. Sharath Jois in 2015, Harmony's approach has evolved beyond conventional yoga paradigms, unlearning and deconstructing everything she once believed fundamental to bring out that which at heart, is essential.

In recent years, Harmony's embarked on a transformative journey, weaving together her practice of Buddhist Meditation, Spinal Energetics, Spiritual Coaching and Eastern Mysticism into the already well-established roots of Asana and Pranayama. What she shares with students doesn't belong to any one system. Her retreats and workshops highlight yoga as the art of living and science of experience.

Harmony's teaching philosophy centers on the fundamental recognition: "That which you are looking for is the one who is looking." She guides students to recognize their inherent creativity and wholeness, empowering them to tap into their personal power and intuition.

Her approach is shaped by rich life experiences, including:

    · Five years of immersive study in China, India, and Thailand

    · Deep dive into Sanskrit chanting and Eastern philosophical traditions

    · Founding her own yoga school in Canada in 2009

    · Integrating Ashtanga yoga and spiritual practice into daily life as a mother

    · Guiding personal and professional transformation through holistic coaching and mindfulness-based leadership practices

    · Facilitating deep healing through Spinal Energetics and nervous system integration

Harmony offers a holistic experience, focusing on cultivating six levels of awareness: Mental, Emotional, Somatic, Unconscious, Energetic, and Behavioral to wake up to your inherent worthiness and transform your spiritual practice into a powerful tool for healing and personal evolution.

Mysore Style is the heart of Ashtanga Yoga. In the Mysore method, students are met as individuals. Each person is taught progressively according to his or her readiness. A relationship is cultivated with the teacher and the practice begins to grow over time. The Mysore method of teaching and practice is very effective, and a certain power can be transmitted through the teacher to the students. Practicing with a qualified teacher can be a very transformative experience for students who are open to exploring their inner self, using the asana as a tool for this discovery.
